Leadership

A letter from our Leadership Chair Garrett Mooney

One Army was founded on three pillars: brotherhood, leadership, and service. These are not just words we repeat, they are guiding principles that are deeply intertwined in everything we do. Each action, each relationship, and each commitment we take on reflects these values.

This year, I have been blessed with the privilege of serving as our Service Chairman. Our philanthropy is Still Creek Ranch (Whoop!), and what sets our partnership apart is not just the cause we support, but the way we live out our service. Every Friday, our men step away from the busy pace of college life to spend intentional time at the ranch, building relationships with the boys who live there.

It is not just about showing up, but we are intentional, present, and consistent. Whether it’s playing basketball, kickball, or simply sitting down to talk, the time we share is about more than activities—it’s about trust, mentorship, and brotherhood. Through our mentorship program, members have the opportunity to become an older brother figure in the lives of these boys. It’s a role that goes far beyond surface-level interaction, planting seeds of encouragement and guidance that will continue to impact their lives long after our time in One Army has ended.

What makes our organization truly special is that our service is not defined by a single event on the calendar. We don’t just host one fundraiser a year and call it complete. Instead, we invest ourselves consistently throughout the entire year, week after week. This allows us to witness real growth, both in the boys and in ourselves, and to see firsthand the difference that genuine service and leadership can make.

At its core, One Army embodies what it means to serve with purpose. Still Creek Ranch is not just a philanthropy - it is a mission, a responsibility, and a blessing. It reminds us that brotherhood extends beyond our own circle, leadership is best expressed through humility and example, and service is most powerful when it is consistent and heartfelt.

Sincerely,

Garrett Mooney
